Odin ‘Howardized’

Small town softball, big time bats to celebrate life of Howard Hockel, support community he loved

The Odin softball park and Odin Dome will be busy with activity this Saturday, August 9, when the community becomes “Howardized.”

In a celebration of the life of Odin native Howard Hockel, and in support of the community he loved, a fast-pitch softball tournament will be held on the diamond. Tourney play kicks off at 1 p.m.

At 7 p.m., a home run derby will feature Odin legends’ hitters swinging for the fences.

T-shirts, hat and concessions will be available in and around the “dome.”

Proceeds will go towards the Odin Community Club and its support of the Odin Grocery and Cafe.

The day will be one of traditional small town softball, backed by the big time bats of the hitters.
