Other scholarships presented to graduating seniors as well
At local high school commencement exercises for the Class of 2014 – at Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) and Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) – the Mountain Lake Area Scholarship Program awarded a total of 13 scholarships to graduating seniors.
Presenting the awards at the MLHS ceremony was committee member Deb Wallert, while committee member Bryan Bargen did the honors at MLC’s exercises.
The total value of the scholarships was approximately $12,500. Awards are made on the basis of financial need, merit (scholastic and community involvement) and specifications named by the donors (future plans and employment history).

Brad Behrends Memorial Scholarships, Dreamchaser Scholarships
Shawn Naas presented the Brad Behrends Memorial Scholarship at MLHS graduation ceremonies to Brooke Fast, daughter of Curt and Tammy Fast, who will be attending Minnesota State University-Mankato Minnesota as well as to Andrew Hempeck.
Additional scholarships presented at MLHS were given by MLHS Class of 1999 graduate Eddie Galles. He presented Dreamchaser Scholarships to Cheyenne Narber, who will be attending South Central College in North Mankato, Minnesota and to Jose Gonzalez, who will be a student at Minnesota West in Jackson, Minnesota.
