New look, new entrance for Windom Area Hospital

Remodeling, improvement plans to get underway in July

Changes are coming to Windom Area Hospital beginning in July that will feature a new look – and a new entrance. The improvement and remodeling plans were recently announced by the Windom Area Hospital Board of Directors, as reported by KEYC-TV.

It has been since 2004 that the hospital has undergone any major improvements, but this expansion will add 22,000 square feet to the building as well as double the size of the current surgery rooms, an area that has not been remodeled since 1974.

Another big change is how travelers on Minnesota State Highway #60 will see the hospital entrance from the four-lane road. Following the changes, the front entrance will face the highway. That new entrance and lobby will welcome patients and visitors to the Outreach Clinic, along with the hospital.

It is estimated that by summer 2015, the project should be close to, if not completely, done.
