MLHS Class of 2017 heads to the metro area
The Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS Class) of 2017 went on their senior class road trip today (Wednesday, May 10). Class members were able to see Grease at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre in Chanhassen thanks to a generous grand from the Remick Foundation. Chanhassen is a live performance venue for musical theater, jazz and more – plus a full menu of American cooking.
For the performance of Grease on the Main Stage, the seniors were able to join in – from the audience, at least – with Sandy, Danny and the rest of the Burger Palace Boys and Pink Ladies for an affectionate satire of high school life in the 1950s. Unforgettable tunes included “Summer Nights,” “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee,” “We Go Together,” “Greased Lightnin’,” “Beauty School Dropout” and added songs made popular in the film, “Grease (Is The Word),” “Hopelessly Devoted to You” and “You’re the One That I Want.”
Following dinner and a musical, the students headed over to Rockin’ Jump Trampoline and Recreation Park in Eagan. Class funds paid for two hours of activity on trampolines, playing dodgeball, walking the x-beam, wall climbing and slam dunking in the zone.
Chaperones were Brenda Feil, Shawn Naas, and Kim Syverson, MLHs senior class advisors.
