Patriots squash Wolverines’ Homecoming game hopes at Munson Field
Hills-Beaver Creek squashed Homecoming game win hopes for Mountain Lake Area (MLA) in a battle of consistent 9-Man powers at Munson Field, topping the Wolverines 52-22.
In the first quarter, the Patriots jumped in front scoring three TDs. They added two more in the second quarter and third quarter, building a 36-8 margin at the half. Four of the touchdowns for the dominant offense came through the air.
MLA scored one TD in the first quarter, making good on the two-point conversion, but didn’t score another touchdown until the third quarter (two-point conversion good) and finished with a last score in the final quarter (two-point conversion failed).
This was the first loss of the season for MLA, now with a 3-1 mark. HB-C also has a 3-1 record.
Taking on tough opponents doesn’t let up for the Wolverines next Friday, September 30, when they face Edgerton/Ellsworth at Edgerton, beginning at 7 p.m.
