Area dogs on paw parade during Good Sam’s ‘Dog Day of Summer’ event
Residents, tenants and staff of the Good Samaritan Society-Mountain Lake – The Village and The Lodge – had an extra-special “doggone good” day today (Wednesday, August 24), celebrating the “Dog Days of Summer” with their canine guests (and their human handlers).
A visit with a dog provides so much more above and beyond just spending a few minutes with a furry friend. Dogs have the ability to help calm and soothe individuals, lift the spirits of those who are sad and lonely and buoy self-esteem. They also provide a medium for physical touch and.
Most importantly, a canine connection provides unconditional love and acceptance.
