Martha Pabst, the daughter of Claus P. and Aganetha (Wiebe) Quiring, was born on September 24, 1919, on a farm southeast of Mountain Lake. She received her education at a country school nearby. She was baptized upon her confession of faith in Christ Jesus at the Lakeview Gospel Church of Mountain Lake.
On September 30, 1937, she was united in marriage to Joseph Pabst. After they were married, they farmed on the present farm east of Mountain Lake. Martha was very active with the farming.
She had large gardens, many flowers and enjoyed quilting. Martha was noted for her dark bread, zwieback and verenike, which her family loved. Martha and Joseph enjoyed their bus tours after retirement.
To this marriage three children were born, Virginia (Irvin) Sether of Jackson, Minnesota, Beverly (Arthur) Carlson of Odin, Minnesota and Dr. Roger Pabst (special friend Sherry Brandt) of Redwood Falls, Minnesota. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Almada Quiring.
