Competing at the Cardinal Speech Invite

MLC orators up to the challenge at largest meet of the season

Whew! Tough meet at Fairmont High School on Sat., March 1st. With 23 schools and over 420 entries, there was awesome competition. Our six MLC competitors showed well. Results are as follows : Danica Dick 4th place. Storytelling Elijah Stoesz. Ribbon. Info Josh Raabe. Ribbon. Humor Also competing were Melissa Lohrenz, Caitlyn Smith and Katelyn Fast. Judging for MLC were Ellie Harder ad Davis Harder. Team chaperone was Scott Smith. Head coach is Kim Friesen. Our junior high competitors will travel to Mankato Loyola on Thursday, March 6th. The speech team will be taking a break on Saturday, March 8th.
THE MOUNTAIN LAKE Christian (MLC) Speech Team took up the challenge of competition at the Fairmont Cardinal Speech Meet this past Saturday, March 1, at Fairmont Public High School – and the six competitors showed well. It was the largest meet of the season for the team, with 23 schools and over 420 entries taking part in the contest. Above, from left, Danica Dick finished 4th in Storytelling and Josh Raabe in Humorous Interpretation and Elijah Stoesz in Informative Speaking, each earned ribbons. Also competing were Melissa Lohrenz, Caitlyn Smith and Katelyn Fast. Going along with the team as judges were Ellie Harder and Davis Harder. Kim Friesen is the team’s coach. The MLC Junior High Speech Team will compete at Mankato Loyola this Thursday, March 6, and the team will take a hiatus from meets next Saturday, March 8.
