Celebrating written, published works of Cottonwood County women

CCHS event part ‘Women’s History Month’812

The Cottonwood County Historical Society (CCHS) will be recognizing March as “Women’s History Month” with a Sunday, March 9 celebration of the written and published works of Cottonwood County women authors. The afternoon salute at the CCHS building and museum in Windom, Minnesota, located at 812 4th Avenue, will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a program featuring the authors reading from their selections, talking about their books and answering questions, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

This year, a number of local women have written books, with seven authors slated to be on hand. These include Carolyn Van Loh and Paula Paplow from Westbrook, Minnesota; Patricia Miller, Freddie Hoppert, Janelle Kaye and Michele L. Larson of Windom and Betsy Johnson-Miller, who graduated from Windom Public High School, but now lives in Avon, Minnesota.

Books will be available for purchase from these women and other women authors from the county who could not be in attendance, including Diane Dick of Bingham Lake, Minnesota.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The program is co-sponsored by the CCHS and Friends of the Windom Library.
