Trio of JV wrestlers makes the medal stand

RUMBLE_ON_THE_RED_mediumTuesday, December 29 and Wednesday, December 30, the Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobra Wrestlers were “rumblin’ on the red” – the Red River that is – at the 10th annual Rumble on the Red Wrestling High School Tournament, held in the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota. Cobra wrestlers participated in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity (JV) tourneys.
A trio of W/ML Cobras made it to the medal stand in the JV contest. Brett Willaby, in the 95-pound bracket, was second in a field of 51 wrestlers; Jesse Jepsen finished in eighth at 145 and Sebastian Reyes was eighth at 170.

There were 21 mats running continuously, with over 1,400 Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestlers participating.

Minnesota teams at the Rumble, in addition to W/ML, were Adrian, Aitkin, Albert Lea, ANML, Andover, Benilde St. Margaret’s, Border West, Burnsville, Byron, Cambridge-Isanti, Centennial, Chanhassen/Chaska, Coon Rapids, Delano, Dover-Eyota, Eagan, East Ridge, Faribault, Forest Lake, Frazee, Jackson County Central, Lakeville North, Minneota, Moorhead, Osseo, Owatonna, Rochester Century, Rocori, Rosemount, Sartell-St. Stephen, Sauk Rapids-Rice, Scott West, St. Francis, Trinity School at River Ridge, Waconia, Wayzata, White Bear Lake, Willmar and Woodbury. From North Dakota were Beulah-Hazen, Bishop Ryan, Bismarck Century, Bismarck Legacy, Central Cass, Des Lacs Burlington, Fargo Davies, Fargo North, Fargo South, Grand Forks Red River, Hettinger-Scranton, Hillsboro-Central Valley, Jamestown, Lisbon, Minot, Oakes, Valley City, Wahpeton, Watford City, West Fargo and West Fargo-Sheyenne. South Dakota teams participating were Beresford, Rapid City Stevens, Sisseton and Spearfish. And from Nebraska, Grand Island.
