ruth jonesFuneral services for 85-year-old Ruth Jones of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday morning, December 14, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. The church is located at 1418 2nd Avenue.

Visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral service from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m..

Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

Ruth Jones passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Lake-The Village.

Ruth Ann Jones was born on March 29, 1930, in Kimball Township, Jackson County, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Mae (Kruger) Gohr. She was confirmed at the Kimball Lutheran Church in 1944, and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1948. Ruth then attended Mankato Beauty School and graduated in 1949. She was a Minnesota Certified Registered cosmetologist and worked in Worthington, Minnesota, Balaton, Minnesota and Pipestone, Minnesota. Ruth then owned and operated Modern Beauty Shop for 23 years in Fulda, Minnesota.

She was united in marriage to Alvin Henry Jones on November 17, 1950, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the couple farmed together for 35 years.

They moved to Mountain Lake in 1990.

Ruth was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, where she taught Sunday School for seven years. She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary while she lived in Fulda. Ruth enjoyed gardening, bowling (her high score was a 274), crocheting, embroidery, collecting dolls, crafts and traveling.

She is survived by children, Allen (Sandy Kracht) Jones of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, Lyle (Katie) Jones of North Mankato, Minnesota and Arla (Dr. Michael) Klepczyk of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandchildren, Avery Tate of El Paso, Texas, Kristen (Brandon) Burstad of New Ulm, Minnesota, Nicole Jones of Mankato, Minnesota, Kerri (Josh) Allen of Sioux Falls, Michael Jones of Mankato, Peter Le Beau of Mankato and Rachel Le Beau of Mankato; great-grandchildren, Brillie Tate and Kaydon, Lieh and Aduary Burstad; sisters, Jeanette Hale, Lois (Melvin) Friesen and Leola Gohr, all of Mountain Lake and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin in 2006; brothers, Francis (Bud) Gohr and George Gohr and sister Lorraine Devens.
