Dave Cory has been in the radio business for 40+ years
After more than 40 years in the radio business – 34 of them spent at KDOM AM/FM Radio of Windom – Dave Cory, KDOM General Manager, has announced that he will retire at the end of October.
Cory began his broadcast career at a pair of Missouri stations before coming to Windom in November 1975. He left Minnesota in 1983 to manager stations in Wisconsin and Iowa before returning to KDOM as Assistant Manager in 1989.
When the current ownership purchased the station in early 2001, Cory was selected as General Manager.
Station owner Jerry Papenfuss will serve as Interim Manager while the search continues for a new manager. Papenfuss said, “We appreciate Dave’s service to the radio industry and to the KDOM listening area.”
In addition, Papenfuss announced that Judi Cory (Dave’s wife of 46 years, who has worked beside him in the radio business in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa) will remain at the radio station as the Lead Account Representative in the Sales Department.
