Memorial services for 68-year-old Wendell Peter Fast of Bemidji, Minnesota, were held Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2015, at the Evangelical Free Church in Bemidji.
Interment was in Eckles Township Cemetery in rural Bemidji.
Wendell Peter Fast passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at his home in Bemidjij.
Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji handled the funeral arrangements.
Wendell was born July 27, 1946, in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Agatha (Quiring) Fast. He was raised in Mountain Lake and graduated from Mountain Lake Public High School in 1964. He graduated from Oaks Hills Bible College (today, Oak Hills Christian College) in Bemdji, in 1967.
He married Shelly Willams on August 17, 1968 in Bemidji.
Wendell dedicated his entire life serving in ministry to youth, in Awana, Camp Ministries and Youth For Christ. He worked tirelessly for Youth For Christ for decades, creating relationships with families that spanned three generations in the Bemidji area and the Red Lake nation.
He also had a passion for dairy farming, and loved spending time on his tractor working the land. Most of all, he loved every moment he spent with his family, including his involvement with the grandchildren showing at the county fair.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Fast of Bemidji; two sons, Barton Fast of Bemidji and Trenton (Catriece) Fast of Owatonna, Minnesota; one daughter, Lindsay (Gabriel) Moen of Minnetonka; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and one sister, Vernelle Fast of Fayette, Maine.
His parents preceded him in death.
