Top Fulda by 24 at home
The Mountain Lake Area (MLA) Wolverine girls basketball team opened the new year by notching a 24-point Red Rock Conference win last night (Thursday, January 4) over the visiting Fulda Raiders, 64 to 40.
By the half, the Maroon-and-Silver had opened up a 12-point margin, heading into the locker room at the break with a 35 to 23 lead.
Junior guard Taylor Naas led Wolverine scorers with 20 points – 18 of those from three-point land with six buckets. Sophomore guard Margo Stoesz and junior center Rylie Tollefson each added 10 points in the MLA victory.
McKenzie Evers was the Raiders’ top scorer with 16. Evany Luna scored seven and had 12 rebounds.
With the win, the Wolverines are 5-5 on the season, and will face Madelia at home tonight (Friday, January 5) in a non-conference contest.
