Defeat Luverne Cardinals, lose to host Trojans
In a triangular meet at Worthington on Thursday, December 7, the Windom/Mountain Lake (W/ML) Cobras defeated Luverne 60 to 12 in the early dual. In their dual with host Worthington, W/ML was stopped 29 to 43. Worthington followed by topping Luverne 67 to 12.
Two-match winners for the Cobras included:
- Brett Willaby – at 120 pounds, winning both by fall, pinning Luverne’s J. Ripka and Worthington’s Magana.
- Kade Sammons – at 132, beat Luverne’s Tucker Oeltjenbruns, 7-3 and Worthington’s Erik Artiga, 11-3.
- Zach Spinks – wrestling at 145 against Luverne, beat Dalton Desollar in a 1:40 fall, and then, at 152, pinned Worthington’s Juan Guizar in 1:21.
- Alex Borsgard – won by fall at 152 over Luverne’s Dooyema and at 145 pounds, declared a 15-5 major decision (MD) over Worthington’s Ethan Pavelko.
- Jesse Jepsen – at 170, defeated Luverne’s Tom Brown by a fall and topped Worthington’s Brayden Donkersloot, 5-2.
