Mountain Lake Ice Rink Christmas vacation hours set

Open House is slated for Saturday, January 6

 

ACCORDING TO MOUNTAIN Lake Ice Rink Volunteer Superintendent Ken Classen, the rink was flooded again last night (Thursday, December 21). Christmas vacation hours will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. from Tuesday, December 26 through Monday, January 1. The warming house will also be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. An Open House for the skating rink – and new warming house – will be held on Saturday, January 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The rink is located east of Mountain Lake Public School (MLPS). The new warming house was set in place by at the rink location on, July 21, with the interior work completed on November 29. Friends of the Pool, using the group’s fundraising reserve funds collected over the years, paid for the purchase and installation of the cottage house. The addition to the rink was approved by both MLPS and the Mountain Lake City Council. The warming house is located on school district property, while the City of Mountain Lake will furnish liability insurance, electricity, necessary equipment and supervision for the rink operations.
