MLA girls basketball drop non-conference game against MVL

Taylor Naas scores 17 in the loss

 

MOUNTAIN LAKE AREA (MLA) Wolverine girls basketball dropped a non-conference game to Minnesota Valley Lutheran (MVL) in New Ulm last night (Tuesday, December 19) by 15 points. The host Chargers, backed by three 10-point scorers, defeated MLA 57 to 42. Junior Taylor Naas hit for double digits for the Maroon-and-Silver, scoring 17. The three MVL players tallying 10 points included Emma Nelson, Abby Nelson and Hannah Marzinske. Emma Nelson also collected eight rebounds, with Sarah Dinse stopping the Wolerine offense with four blocked shots. Next play for the girls will be next week during the 2017 MLA Holiday Tourney. They will play on Thursday, December 28 against Legacy Christian Academy of Andover. That game begins at 6 p.m. On Friday, December 29, tournament play continues, with the MLA girls playing Cedar Mountain/Comfrey, also at 6 p.m.
