Funeral services for 76-year-old Milo Thorson of Butterfield, Minnesota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, September 15, 2017, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in rural Odin, Minnesota, with Reverend Carla Reierson officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors provided by the Mountain Lake American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, located at 420 10th Street North. A second visitation will be at the church the day of the funeral from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Milo Thorson passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, Minnesota.
Milo Leon Thorson was born on November 16, 1940 in Mountain Lake, the son of Carl and Hazel (Paulson) Thorson. He grew up in the Mountain Lake/ Butterfield areas. Milo graduated from Butterfield High School. He served 2½ years in the United States Air Force.
Milo farmed south of Butterfield for a number of years, enjoyed doing custom farming, was involved in the DX Station in Butterfield for 12 years, worked construction for Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye for 12 years and at the Windom Ready Mix plant for 12 years.
Milo enjoyed woodworking projects, loved his fix-it projects around the house and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a life member of the Mountain Lake American Legion and the Butterfield American Legion. He also served on the Butterfield Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Thorson of Butterfield; sister Orra (Bill) Echmann of Fairmont, Minnesota and six step-children, including Mary (Wade) Schmadeka of Montevideo, Minnesota.
Preceding him in death were his first wife,Darlene and his parents.
