Three juveniles transported to hospital for evaluation
Following a single vehicle accident north of Mountain Lake on Friday afternoon, March 24, three juvenicles were transported to Windom Area Hospital by Mountain Lake Ambulance for evaluation.
According to a report filed by Cotttonwood County Deputy Sheriff Nick Naxay, the accident occurred ata 2:08 p.m. on Cottonwood County Road 3, ¼ mile west of Cotonwood County Road 1 in Midway Township. The vehicle, a 2002 tan Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 17-year-old juvenile, was traveling east on County 3 when it veered off the roadway towards the south ditch. The vehicle collided with a concrete drainage ditch retaining wall at an angle which caused the vehicle to pivot, facing south causing the driver’a side rear of the vehicle to impact the wall as well. The vehicle came to rest facing south in the drainage ditch. The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside due to damage to the front driver’s side door. The other two passengers, a 16-year-old juvenile and a 13-year-old juvenile, were able to get out on their own.
The vehicle received severe damage. The retaining wall was also damaged.
