Second season of Mountain Lake Soccer set to get up and kicking

Beyond scoring, goals are to be players, people of character and excellence on, off the field

The second season of Mountain Lake Soccer is set to get up and kicking with a Pre-Season Day Camp slated for for Saturday, March 18 at the Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) soccer fields. If the weather is not cooperative, events will be in the school gym.

The timetable focusing on soccer players of different ages will be:

  • Grades 1-4 – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Grades 5-8 – 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
  • Grades 9+ – 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

It will be a time for athletes and their parents to meet the coaches, register, learn more about the game and what Mountain Lake Soccer offers. There will be a discount on pre-season registration.

The regular season for the co-ed teams will run during May and June.

Club President Ally Klassen notes that, “We are hoping to grow the program this year, adding ages as young as U8 up to U16. Games are tentatively set up with surrounding communities such as St James, Madelia and Lake Crystal. Tournament play possibilities are in Fairmont and Marshall.”

With questions, e-mail: mtlakesoccer@gmail.com, or text or call Klassen at 507-822-1395.

The mission of Mountain Lake Soccer is to train players to be people of character and excellence, both on – and off – the field.
