Each unit of blood donated at an American Red Cross Blood Drive is a precious gift. That is because each donation can help save a life.

Members of the Mountain Lake Public High School (MLHS) Student Council hosted a Homecoming Week 2016 Blood Drive in the school’s auditorium on Monday, September 19.

MLHS Student Council officers for the 2016-2017 school year include – President Liana Blomgren, Vice-President Sam Grev and Secretary Karen Soutthivong. Class Representatives are Senior Class – Kenna Gardiner, Kalley Rempel and Meredith Suess; Junior Class – Jae Faber, Jenneel Rodney and Marta Stoesz; Sophomore Class – Elizabeth Koetzle, Sierra Pankratz and Regan Syverson; Freshman Class – Paton Buller, Isaac Grev and Brett Willaby; Eighth-Grade Class – Anika Fast, Sabrina Hanson and Carly Osland and Seventh-Grade Class – Jessica Anderson, Sam Stade and Caden Swoboda. Faculty co-advisors are Jaime Banks and Kim Syverson.

The American Red Cross collected 32 units, and that included 21 units by students, four from staff members.

Following are a couple of young donors who shared their Homecoming spirit by helping to save lives:
