Signey Stoesz to play in 28th annual Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Star Series
Will Purple reign supreme at the 28th annual Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Star Series this Sunday?
One of many hoping so is Purple team member – and former Mountain Lake Area Wolverine Girls Softball player for Head Coach Brian Hopwood, and recent grad of Mountain Lake Public High School – Signey Stoesz.
Stoesz, daughter of Mike and Sonja Stoesz, is one of 80 high school seniors from across the state – four teams of 20 players each – selected to play in the tournament-style bracket all-star series to be held this Sunday, June 12, at Caswell Park in North Mankato. Game times will be 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. The ball park is located at 1875 Howard Drive West.
The day kicks off with the 2016 Hall of Fame Recognition, Section Coach of the Year and All-Star Recognition at the Best Western in North Mankato. The inductees for 2016 include: Coach – Mike Schumacher of Wabasha/Kellogg and Players – Missy Beseres of Robbinsdale Armstrong and Erin Bennek of Totino Grace, as well as 2015 inductees who could not attend last year: Coach – Guy Nelsen of Willmar and Player – Dawna Storey of Southworth Warroad.
Stoesz will be one of the pitchers for the Purple team. The team’s Head Coach will be Bryan Dunrud of New York Mills.
