verna rahnFuneral services for 91-year-old Verna Rahn of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 30, 2016, at Lakeview Gospel Church in Mountain Lake, with Pastor Merwin Dick officiating. The church is located at 1002 10th Street North.

Interment will be in Mountain Lake Cemetery City, located at 10th Street North at Midway Road.

Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 29, 2016. The funeral home is located at 420 10th Street North. A second visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Verna Rahn passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, Minnesota.

Verna Elizabeth Wiebe, the daughter of Elizabeth (Fast) and Henry Wiebe, was born on the family farm in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Bingham Lake, from where she graduated in 1943.

On February 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Henry Rahn. Verna and Henry worked the farm together, raised 14 children and were active in their church. Verna served as Sunday School Superintendent.

She was proud that her children and grandchildren had come to know the Lord. She like to garden, play softball, sing and listen to old gospel hymns. She was a Prayer Warrior and loved to read her Bible. She also enjoyed travelling to visit family around the country.

She is survived by her children, Elaine (Gaylen) Beardsley of Raymore, Missouri, Carolyn Fleming of Christiana, Pennsylvania, Lucille (Pat) Quigg of Plymouth, Minnesota, Allen (Dorothy)Rahn of Mountain Lake, Lynette (Doug) Buckles of Tucson, Arizona, Roselene (Lloyd) Coblentz of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Gerald Rahn of Mountain Lake, Joel Rahn of Mountain Lake, Randall Rahn of Mountain Lake, Richard Rahn of Minneapolis, Minneapolis, Twylene (Guy) Johnson of Andover, Minnesota, Merlyn (Gail) Rahn of Worthington, Minnesota and Eugene (Johnelle) Rahn of Clearwater, Minnesota; sons-in-law; Terry Dull of Hermitage, Tennessee and Merle Lee of Raymore, Missouri; brothers, Leroy (Pauline) Wiebe of Windom and Leo Wiebe of Mountain Lake sister, Edna McLean of Huntington Beach, California; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry; daughter, Marilyn Dull; brothers, Harold Wiebe and Art Wiebe; sisters, Hilda Friesen and Sarah Nickel; sister-in-law, Georgia Wiebe and son-in-law, Alex Fleming.
