MLC Speech competes at Pipestone Arrow Invite

Raabe third in Humorous; Smith earns blue ribbon in Great Speeches

TWO MOUNTAIN LAKE Christian (MLC) Speech Team members earned awards at the Saturday, February 20, Pipestone Arrow Invitational Speech Meet. Senior Josh Raabe of Mountain Lake, pictured above left, was third in Humorous, while St. James seventh-grader, Zoey Smith, pictured above right, earned blue ribbon in Great Speeches. Twenty-four schools were at the invite, with 409 entries competing spread across the categories. Other MLC competitors were senior Melissa Lohrenz of Mountain Lake in Drama, seventh-grader Elizabeth Linscheid of Butterfield in Original Oratory and Sara Quiring, seventh-grader from Butterfield, in Prose. The team is coached by Kim Friesen and Elijah Stoesz.
