Week 2 of the 2016 Minnesota Twins Winter Caravan brought current players – and a former player-turned-broadcaster – to the southwest corner of the state on Wednesday morning, January 27, with a stop at Bank Midwest in Windom. And the fans came rollin’ – in along with the Caravan. Folks from young-to-old – including plenty of school and work absences (at least for about one hour in the morning) – gathered in the bank lobby to catch a glimpse of and take a lot of photographs of a few of the stars of the baseball diamond – both past and present.

Coming to the public stop to answer questions, sign a few autographs and stoke the fire for the Twins role in the 2016 Major League Baseball season were former third baseman Dan “The Dazzle Man” Gladden, member of the 1987 and 1991 World Champion Minnesota Twins, now a radio broadcaster with the Twins Radio Network; along with current players, second baseman Brian Dozier and utility player and left-fielder Eduardo Escobar. Another special guest was Twins mascot T. C. Bear. The event was hosted by Dirk Abraham of KDOM Radio. KDOM Radio of Windom is a member of the Twins Radio Network.

The 2016 Twins Winter Caravan, presented by Mayo Clinic, features stops in more than 40 communities throughout Twins Territory between Monday, January 18 and Thursday, January 28.

The Twins Winter Caravan is one of the longest running and most extensive offseason team caravans in professional sports. It features teams of current and former players visiting schools, hospitals, corporations and service clubs during the day with a traditional “hot stove” program each evening.

Twins Winter Caravan tours are led by members of the Treasure Island Baseball Network and Fox Sports North broadcast teams including Bert Blyleven, Dick Bremer, Dan Gladden, Cory Provus and Kris Atteberry.

Below are some photos of the visit to Windom by the 2016 Minnesota Twins Caravan:

MOUNTAIN LAKE NATIVE (and physical education teacher in the St. James Public School District), Adam Schroeder, right, brought his son, Declan, left to the event for the opportunity to meet the baseball players. Of course, the pair were clad in Twins gear in order to show their support for the club. Declan keeps his eyes focused on the image on the screen as his dad snaps a few photos with his cell phone.

T. C. BEAR, the Twins’ mascot, was all smiles and waves; happy to pose for photo ops, like this one with Bank Midwest employee Nicole Inman. Inman even had her cell phone attached to a selfie stick in order to get shots from every angle possible – and imaginable.
