Looking a lot like Christmas

Santa visits Butterfield, shares rides with folks in a fire truck

 

Butterfield is beginning to look a lot like Christmas – especially at the corner of Main Street by Butterfield Foods following the fourth-annual Community Tree Lighting held late this afternoon (Saturday, November 28). Santa Claus did the lighting honors. This event is sponsored by the Butterfield Summer Sizzler.

A free will soup and sandwich supper, served up by the Butterfield Fire Department, followed the tree lighting in the Butterfield Fire Hall. At 7 p.m., a community drawing was held (winners had to be present to win). All funds will go to the Butterfield Fire Department.

In addition, fire truck rides around Butterfield – with Santa Claus riding in the passenger seat – were provided to kids of all ages by the Butterfield firefighters.
