Funeral Mass for 82-year-old Ruth Molitor of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, September 17, 2015, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom, Minnesota. The church is located at 532 17th Street.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Father Patrick Arens will officiate at the services.
Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake Chapel, on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The chapel is located at 420 10th Street North. A second visitation will be held at the church the day of the funeral services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Ruth Molitor passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015, at the Laker Apartments in Mountain Lake.
Ruth Mary Molitor was born June 23, 1933, in Tracy, Minnesota, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Cote) Schons. She graduated from Currie Public High School in Currie, Minnesota, and was united in marriage to Severin Molitor on June 10, 1952, at the Currie Catholic Church.
Ruth raised eight children and her two youngest brothers until 1973. She then worked in the dietary field until her retirement in 1993. Ruth worked at Head Start in the Foster Grandparent program for many years and also volunteered for the Reader Program for children at the Laker Apartments in Mountain Lake.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Windom and was a former member of a card club in Mountain Lake. Ruth enjoyed sewing, raising flowers, embroidery, and making quilts. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, and the singer, Neil Diamond. Ruth especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her children, James Molitor of Lucan, Minnesota, Margaret (Tom) Gosen of Mountain Lake, Anthony (Lori) Molitor of Big Lake, Minnesota, Collette Neisen of Wood Lake, Minnesota and Jerome (Marlys) Molitor, Daniel Molitor and Paul (Deb) Molitor, all of Mountain Lake; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Charlie) Dudley of Osprey, Florida and Sister Avis Schons of Stewartville, Minnesota and brothers, Kenny (Audrey) Schons of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Bill (Deloris) Schons of Hutchinson, Minnesota and John (Carlene) Schons of Fairmont, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Severin in 1980; daughter Karen in 2015; granddaughter, Sara Roozen; sister, Elaine (Gerald) Ruppert and brother Bernard Schons.
