Mountain Lake Assembly preparing for 8th annual event
Amidst their building project, Mountain Lake Assembly is also busy preparing for their 8th Annual Kids Fest, slated for next Friday, August 7. This free event in Mountain Lake City Park, runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and involves filling the park with hours of fun for children preschool age-through-6th grade.
Activities will include a dunk tank, bounce houses, wrecking ball, inflated slide, obstacle course, water balloon fight, tug-of-war and gaga ball.
As in prior years, kids will be offered a free meal and a chance to cool down with a snow cone.
Kids Fest will finish the day with its big giveaway of prizes and hundreds of backpacks and school supplies.
“While significantly organized, staffed, and paid for by Mountain Lake Assembly, this event would not be possible without the generous support of dozens of local businesses and individuals from our community,” explains Pastor David Savage. “We deeply appreciate the community support and will recognize all the businesses that make this event possible.”
Mountain Lake Assembly of God continues to provide this special event each year out of a heart-felt love for the children of the community. “During his time on earth, Jesus demonstrated the precious value of each child. Now, we want kids to keep experiencing that love and sense of worth,” ays Pastor David. “In addition, we want to offer some practical help to all the families of our community through the giving away of backpacks and school supplies.”
It is still not too late for any businesses or individuals that want to help through a financial donation or volunteering during the event. Donations can even be made online at mountainlakeassembly.org. or contact Pastor David Savage at 507-822-3903, P. O.
