2015 Watonwan County Fair days

Events run from Wednesday through Sunday

The 4-H general entry and judging will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, July 14) – but the 2015 Watonwan County Fair days starting running full tilt the following day (Wednesday, July 15) and will continue through Sunday, July 20. Admission to the fair is the purchase of a Fair Button; $5 in advance or $7 at the gate – or – general admission is $3 per day. Gates are open Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Exhibits will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Following is the line-up for the Fair days:

Wednesday, July 15 – 

* Enter 4-H rabbits, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

* Enter 4-H and FFA beef, sheep and goats, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

* Extreme Cowboy Race Clinic, Horse Arena, 6 p.m.

* Creative Arts entries, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Bingo, Under the Big Tent, 6 p.m.

* Rabbit judging, 6:30 p.m.

* NTPA (National Tractor Pullers Association) Tractor Pull, 7 p.m., Grandstand. Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for ages 12 and under.

* J & K Amusements, Midway, $1 nighttime ride special.

Thursday, July 16 –

* Enter swine, 7:30 a.m.

* Enter FFA crops, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

* Enter 4-H horses, 8:30 a.m.

* Enter open class crops, 9 a.m.

* Enter creative arts, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

* Lamb Lead followed by Sheep Show, 10 a.m.

*  FFA crop judging, 10 a.m. to noon.

* 4-H Horse Show, Horse Arena, 1 p.m.

* 4-H/FFA and Open Class Goat Show, 1 p.m.

* Creative Arts judging, 1:30 p.m.

* Extreme Cowboy Race, Horse Arena, 4:30 p.m.

* Boer Goat Open Class Show, 5 p.m.

* Bingo, Under the Big Tent, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* 4-H demonstrations in 4-H Exhibit Building, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

* Enter 4-H/FFA dairy, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Friday, July 17 –

* Free Tractorcade, Leaves at 7 a.m.

* 4-H/FFA and Open Class swine judging, 8:30 a.m.

* 4-H/FFA and Open Class dairy judging, 12:30 p.m.

* Bingo, Under the Big Tent, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* 4-H and FFA beef, 6 p.m.

* Hot Foot 2 Antique Tractor Pull, 6 p.m., Grandstand. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for ages five to 12.

* Ranch Rodeo and Horse Tack and Vendor Sale, Horse Arena, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

* 4-H demonstrations in 4-H Exhibit Building, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Children’s arts and crafts, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Band in the Beer Garden – “Foolish Mortals” – 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Saturday, July 18 –

* 4-H/FFA auction, 9 a.m.

* 4-H premier showmanship and celebrity showmanship, 11 a.m.

* Dart Tournament – 501 Blind Draw, 1 p.m. (Sign-up starts at noon.)

* Creative Arts sweepstakes winners photo shoot, 2 p.m.

* Bingo, Under the Big Tent, 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

* Ultimate Off-Road Enduro Race hosted by the River Valley Off-Roaders, Grandstand, 5 p.m. Admission if $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12.

* Horse Pull, Horse Arena, 6 p.m.

* Free Entertainment Tent featuring “Barton Hallow,” 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Children’s arts and crafts, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Teen Dance – “Elegant Affair,” Gray Commercial Building, 8 p.m. Sponsored by St. James Saintettes.

* Band in the Beer Garden – “Dueling Pianos” (Rock It Man) – 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

* Free fireworks, Grandstand, 10:15 p.m.

Sunday, July 19 –

* Horse Fun Show, Horse Arena, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

* Been Bag Tournament, 1 p.m. (Sign-up starts at noon.)

* Free Entertainment Tent featuring the “Bee-Kays,” Senior Citizen recognition, Century Farm recognition and Farm Family of the Year recognition, 12:30 p.m.

* Pet Show, 1 p.m.

* Bingo, Under the Big Tent, 1 p.m. to ?.

* Kids’ Pedal Tractor Pull competition, 2 p.m. (Sign-up starts at 1:30 p.m.)

* 4-H Parade of Champions and Graduation, Entertainment Tent, 3 p.m.

 * Children’s arts and crafts, 3 p.m.

* Medallions in the paper, 4 p.m.

 

* Creative Arts building exhibitors and all 4-Hers, pick up exhibits, 6 p.m.
