Cobras 19th of 62 teams, three varsity wrestlers make the medal stand
Sixty-two high school wrestling teams from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming competed this past Friday, January 2 and Saturday, January 3 in the “Rumble on the Red” in Fargo, North Dakota – including the Windom/Mountain Lake Cobras. The team placed 19th out of those 62 teams, and the Cobras sported three varsity place winners. Each weight bracket typically had 30-40 wrestlers.
Individual results were as follows:
* Jared Willaby (145) – 3rd place finish, six wins (including a fall) and one loss.
* Joe Fischenich (138) – 7th place finish, four wins (including a fall) and two losses.
* Alex Borsgard (120) – 8th place finish, three wins and three losses.
* Wyatt Stevens (132) – Was 3-2 (including a fall).
* Jacob Suess (160 )- Was 3-2 (including a fall).
* Zach Spinks (106) – Was 3-2.
* Jake Junker (195) – Was 1-2 (win was on a fall).
* Gavin Mutz (170) – Was 1-2 (win was on a fall).
* Evan Wiens (126) – Was 1-2.
* Julio Gutierrez (220) – Was 0-2.
* Richard Garcia Jr. (Heavyweight-285) – Was 0-2.
