Jorge, Lori Puente open Our Home Town Cafe along Mountain Lake’s 3rd Avenue
OUR HOME TOWN Cafe, located at 1205 3rd Avenue, the former home of BB’s Diner and Dairy Queen, is now open. With the support of the Mountain Lake Economic Development Authority (EDA), Jorge and Lori Puente of Mountain Lake are off-and-running with their new eating establishment. According to Lori, “‘Our’Home Town Cafe is the name; and we place a major emphasis on ‘Our’ as we work with local farmers for produce and eggs, as well as the local market for meat cuts and specialty sausage. In addition, the interior decor and more features the work of local artists. As well as offering consumers foodstuffs, goods and services from the local area, the cafe’s name has added meaning as Lori, moved “home” to Mountain Lake with husband Jorge earlier this year, and is a graduate of Mountain Lake Public High School and the daughter of longtime local residents, Dick and Irma Lohrenz.
