richard oeltjenbrunsFuneral services for 78-year-old Richard Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 24, 2014, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, located at 1418 2nd Avenue.

Interment will be in Mountain Lake City Cemetery, located at 10th Street North at Midway Road.

Pastor Peter Kufahl will serve as officiant at the services.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Sturm Funeral Home-Mountain Lake, located at 420 10th Street North, as well as at the church one hour prior to start of the funeral service.

Richard  Oeltjenbruns passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Mountain Lake.

Richard Oeltjenbruns was born January 19, 1936 in rural Mountain Lake, the son of Gerhard and Olga (Steinhauser) Oeltjenbruns. He was baptized May 10, 1936, confirmed April 2, 1950, and united in marriage to Lois Enns on October 27, 1957, all at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake.

Richard farmed and was an auctioneer for many years and also worked at Regier Chevrolet and sold cars for Towns Edge Auto, both of Mountain Lake. He bought and sold feeder pigs and hay for Oeltjenbruns Hauling, using his auctioneering skills. As a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Richard served as a Trustee, church president and was a current member of Fishers of Men, a scholarship committee.

He enjoyed fishing, farming and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of Mountain Lake; daughter, Dawn (Myron) Fast of Mountain Lake; son, Rick (Mary) Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Brandon (Kris) Fast of Mountain Lake and Trevor (Crystal) Fast of Mountain Lake; great-grandson, Lawson Fast; step-grandchildren, Brianna Minor and Cody Steen and their children Kevin and Amelia, Michael (Jessi) Minor and their child Addison, Jamie (Tyler) Panka and their children Dominic and Vivian, Jennifer Minor, and Daniel (Lounnee) Minor; brothers, Arnold (Lorraine) Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake, Walter (Margaret) Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake and Dennis (Avis) Oeltjenbruns of Bloomington, Minnesota; sister, Loretta (Jack) Carter of Jeffers, Minneosta; brothers-in-law, Harvey Enns of Estherville, Iowa and Marvin (Shirley) Enns of Ruthven, Iowa and sisters-in-law, Janice (Marvin) Hanson of Odin, Minnesota and Sue Enns of Webster, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy and his wife Eveline Oeltjenbruns; brother-in-law, Jerry Enns and sister-in-law, Faye Enns.
