Mission: Possible ‘agents’ on the case again at Bethel

mission possibleMission: Possible “agents” will be on the case again this year at Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, located at 301 9th Street North, beginning at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, September 17.

These Wednesday evenings are for children in grades 1-6, and run for one hour. The curriculum is intended to help children experience the stories of the Bible in chronological order, with 12 sessions from the Old Testament in the fall and 12 sessions from the New Testament in the spring.

Each lesson highlights a story from the Bible and teaches children that, like the people in the Bible, each of us have a place in God’s plan. The setting is an “Agency,” where the actors are learning how to be “agents” for Christ. The stories are presented in skit form, with a modern day example trying to accomplish the mission in their everyday life. These skits are humorous, but teach a lesson.

This is followed by the Bible skit, showing how characters in the the Bible followed God and fulfilled their mission from God.

Some Bible memorization that coordinates with the missions is included each night.

One unique feature is the CIA (Christians in Action) Time, highlighting how a person from the congregation or the town has lived out the mission of the evening.

Each evening also has a time of singing, games, classroom activities and a snack.
