According to a Monday evening, September 22 Facebook post, the board of Carson Meeting House announced the sale of their building in Delft to the Delft Christian Community.
This group of Anabaptist Christians have moved to the area and wish to live in community. They offered to buy the Carson building for their use as a communal school, worship center and dining hall. Carson Meeting House board members felt this offer was a wonderful way to honor the founding members of Carson Mennonite Brethren Church, as well as the beliefs of the current board.
Board members highlight the wonderful times over the course of the past four years in making new friends and opening the former church building to the greater community.
In a board statement, the sentiment expressed was, “The musicians we have hosted, both local and national, have added life and variety to our evenings. To those of you who have joined us for an evening of games, music or visiting, we thank you. We look back on our time together and know that you have enriched our lives with your friendship. We don’t know what the future will hold for our group but we will continue to look for ways to make our communities better.”
