American Red Cross Bloodmobile collects donations in Mountain Lake on Wednesday
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile made a collection stop in Mountain Lake on Wednesday, July 16, setting up shop in the Mountain Lake Community Center – and the donors turned out – providing precious pints of blood for life. In addition, double red blood cell donations were collected.
The Bloodmobile’s next stop in Mountain Lake will be Thursday, November 20, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., also in the Community Center.
DARFUR’S OWN GLORIA Marks, left, completes her double red blood cell donation.
BOB EWERT, RIGHT, also came into town from his farm home located close to Delft to make sure his donor pint of blood was collected.
THIS PINT OF blood collected was Eldon Quiring’s 104th pint; he never misses a donation opportunity. Eldon is from Butterfield.
AFTER THE PINTS of blood are donated, there is plenty of work to be done with the collection bags and blood sample vials.
IF MOUNTAIN LAKE has a Bloodmobile collection, Dean Schied of Mountain Lake will be there. Schied, who has lived more than nine decades on this Earth and is a World War II survivor, knows the importance of donating blood and always makes sure his provides his pint, knowing his gift will help save lives.
MOUNTAIN LAKE’S MARY Gohr, left, was another donor who spent extra time donating double red blood cells.
