A 90,000 gallon capacity LP tank really is ‘long-playing’

Second tank placed at Country Pride Cooperative’s Bingham Lake storage location

A pair of cranes from Schaefer Crane Service of New Ulm delicately placed a 137,000 lb., 90,000 gallon capacity LP tank on its two piers on Monday, July 28, at Country Pride Cooperative’s Bingham Lake storage location along Minnesota State Highway #60, east of the city.

The tank joins its companion – a 30,000 gallon capacity tank – at the spot.

The tank was built in the Fargo, North Dakota plant of Trinity Industries of Dallas, Texas and transported on a specialized truck for over-dimensional and overweight loads of the Trinity Logistics Group, also of Dallas (Trinity Industries is its parent company). Truck driver Jaime Ibanez had the responsibility of transporting the huge tank to Bingham Lake from North Dakota.

The primed tank will be painted by cooperative employees.

THE TANK, WHICH dwarfs the workers standing in the background, was first placed on two piles of rock as the piers to which it was attached were prepped.

FROM THE ROCK piles, the tank was lifted onto its home on the piers.
