THE SUBCONTRACTOR FOR work done on the 2012-2014 Mountain Lake Utility/Street Project – French Lake – was busy doing concrete removal and replacement repairs along 2nd Avenue on Thursday afternoon, July 10.

The City of Mountain Lake released a tentative schedule for completion of the work for the 2012-2014 Utility and Street Project areas as coordinated by Andy Kehren, city engineer and Senior Principal Project Manager for Bolton & Menk.

That schedule is as follows:

This Week – Week of July 14

* The mud jacking work is substantially done.

* The leveling of boulevards and turf restoration is substantially done.

* Kuechle crew working on punch list items in an ongoing effort.

Week of July 21

* Leveling of boulevards and turf restoration should basically be done after the subcontractor (Legends Concrete) completes the last of the concrete walk construction and any remaining corrective replacements. Legends is scheduled to be in Mountain Lake on Monday, July 21, and is expected to be done by Wednesday, July 23.  Grass seeding to follow.

* Mudjacking subcontractor expected to be on site for about a day completing the last of the concrete leveling work.

* Subcontractor (SMC – Southern Minnesota Construction) tentatively scheduled to be on site at mid-week to do the leveling of the non-wearing course pavement, after Legends is done with the concrete work.  Leveling work will probably include a combination of pavement removal, gravel leveling and repaving along with overlay work.

* Kuechle crew working on punch list items.

Week of July 28

* Subcontractor (SMC) on site paving the bituminous wearing course.

* Kuechle crew working on punch list items.

Friday, August 1

* Weather permitting, work is completed.

The above tentative schedule is dependent upon favorable weather in Mountain Lake and at the other sites where the subcontractors are currently working.  The tentative schedule will be accelerated whenever possible based on windows of opportunity that arise for the subcontractors to be on site to complete the work.

Questions and concerns should be directed to City Hall 427-2999.
