Bob and the Beachcombers bring 30 years of rock & roll to life
There was no sand, no sun – and no bandstand stage in Mountain Lake City Park – but there was a beach party anyway. An afternoon and evening of thunderstorms sent the Monday evening, June 16 bandstand performance of Bob & the Beachcombers indoors to the Mountain Lake Public School auditorium.
Although the site changed, the music did not, and the band brought to life the super surfing hits of the ’60s, some of the classic rock & roll of the ’50s, along with popular favorites from the ’70s and ’80s – spreading musical sunshine as they played.
The original “Beachcombers” b and debuted on December 7, 1986. Despite the fact that some of the names and faces of the band members have changed throughout the course of the past 28 years, the blast from the past sound has remained the same.
Here are some photos from the concert, as Bob & the Beachcombers made waves in the Mountain Lake music scene.

IN ADDITION TO playing the electric guitar and providing vocals, Al also handles the sound and technology boards.
