KAILA BLOM REACTS with joy as she realizes that yes, indeed, she has been crowned the 2014 Little Miss Mountain Lake by the 2013 Little Miss, Michala Morin.

The 2014 Miss and Little Miss Mountain Lake pageant went “Back to the Beach” – and the new Miss Mountain Lake Jenny Wright ran with that theme with her talent presentation, a drum set solo to “Wipe Out” by the Surfaris.

Joining Queen Jenny in the Miss Mountain Lake court are Melanie Adrian, first runner-up and Lydia Hildebrandt, second runner-up. Named as Miss Congeniality, a title given to her by vote of her pageant peers, was Brianna Soutthivong. In addition to their titles, these young women received monetary scholarships from the Mountain Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Selected as Little Miss Mountain Lake was Kaila Blom.

The queen pageant, the kick-off event for this year’s 80th Pow Wow, which is sponsored by the Mountain Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and its members, was held last night (Friday evening, June 13) in the Mountain Lake Public School auditorium.
