MLA’S Aaron Walzak in 15th place
The first of two days of the Minnesota State Class A Golf Tournament at Pebble Creek in Becker has come to the final hole, and Mountain Lake Area’s (MLA) Aaron Walzak, who will be a senior at Mountain Lake Christian in the fall, shot an 82 (44-38), placing him in a six-person tie for 13th.
Atop the leader board of the 88 golfers is Nathaniel Kahlbaugh of Mahnomen/Waubun with a 75 (37-38).
Adam Christensen of Murray County Central in Slayton, was in second with a 76 (37-39).
Cordell Weber of Martin County West in Sherburn, who won the Section 3A title in which Walzak finished third, was in fourth with a 77 (40-37).
* When play resumes tomorrow – the final day of competition – Walzak’s tee time will be 12:36 p.m. on the Red Course.
