Shortage of area child care services being evaluated
Over the past several months, Mountain Lake Early Childhood Initiative (ECI) has been working to form a plan that will assess and address the shortage of child care services in the area. The Mountain Lake Economic Development Authority (EDA) has joined with the ECI to engage with ChildCare Aware of Minnesota to survey area residents in order to identify child care needs, compile data and host community meetings. Contact people include ECI Board Members Sherry Pankratz, Jean Haberman and Rob Anderson.
The plan of the combined organizations will include existing child care providers, along with recruitment of new providers that will be potentially meet the child care needs of the greater community with necessary resources in getting started and licensed.
Mountain Lake Public School recognizes the need for quality child care, but is not associated with the survey.
To complete the survey, click on the following internet link https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/V3BPXT5 and fill out online, or pick up hard copies of the survey at the three Mountain Lake Public School offices, Mountain Lake Public Library and Mountain Lake City Hall. The survey deadline is Monday, May 12.
Community meetings will be scheduled so look for those dates in future posts.
