Carter Kirk scores 2,000th point in his Wolverine varsity boys basketball career February 8, 2014 Share / Print / Email -FacebookTwitterGooglePinterestPrintEmailMOUNTAIN LAKE AREA (MLA) Wolverine boys basketball center, Carter Kirk, scored his 2,000th varsity career point on a free throw in a three overtime loss to Lake Crystal/Wellcome Memorial on Friday, February 7, on the Knights’ home court. Action paused when the milestone was reached, allowing Carter to receive congratulations from his parents, Tim and Sheila Kirk – as well as present the special scoring basketball to his mom. For the game, which MLA lost 92 to 86 in the 3OT, Carter had a game-high 40 points, accompanied by 25 rebounds. Carter, who began his varsity career as a freshman, is a senior at Mountain Lake Public High School.
