On Friday, January 24, the Mountain Lake Christian (MLC) Speech Team traveled to Marshall, Minnesota to observe competition at the Schwan’s Spectacular Speech Meet. The experience gave the orators the opportunity to observe the region’s top speakers – competitors from Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Colorado. The MLC team anticipates competing in this tournament in 2015. The next speech meet for MLC will be the Worthington Speech Meet on Saturday, February 1. The team is coached by Kim Friesen, assisted by Candy Zook. Team captains are Elijah Stoesz and Caitlyn Smith.
