Funeral services for 101-year-old Winniefred “Winnie” Helen Quiring of Mountain Lake were held Tuesday afternoon, December 17, 2013, at Bethel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, the Rev. Galen Kauffman officiating. Interment was in Mountain Lake Cemetery.

Winniefred ‘Winnie’ Helen (Kliewer) Quiring was born December 28, 1911 in Delft, the daughter of Peter J. and Marie (Toews) Kliewer. She was united in marriage to Gerhard G. Quiring on September 6, 1929 in Mountain Lake. Winnie worked as a housekeeper for several homes in Mountain Lake throughout the years. She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church and Ladies Aid. Winnie enjoyed traveling, puzzles, and word-search and will be forever remembered for her perischke and ethnic dishes.
Survivors include her children, Gladys (Harvey) Ratzlaff of St. James, Adeline Benjamin of Lakeville, Gerhard (Darlene) Quiring of Mountain Lake and Mary Ann (Virgil) Bruns of Courtlanld; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Edna Kliewer of Windom.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerhard; grandson Thomas Restorff; brothers Art, David, Arnold and Edward Kliewer; and sisters Viola Holmes and Annabell Smith.
