Wayne “Zim” Zimmerman, 59, of St. James, died at his home on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from complications due to pancreatic cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held this Friday, December 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Catholic Church of St. James in St. James, with Father Thien Nguyen serving as celebrant.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. James.
Visitation will be this Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and also one-hour before services at the church on Friday.

Wayne Fred Zimmerman was born in Mountain Lake on July 18, 1954, the son of Fred and Grayce (Johnson) Zimmerman. He attended schools in Darfur, Minnesota and Comfrey, Minnesota, graduating with the Class of 1972 of Comfrey Public High School.
On November 7, 1983, he married Mary Keim in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed by the Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific railroads for 35 years.
Wayne liked to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also loved all kinds of sports, especially University of Minnesota Golden Gophers football, basketball and hockey, as well the Minnesota Twins.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Zimmerman of St. James; sons, Anthony Zimmerman of Wendel, Idaho and Adam Zimmerman (special friend Audrey Schmidtke) of Mankato: sisters, Lorraine (Marvin) Hoffman of St. James, Shirley (Richard) Green of Mountain Lake, Lucy (Roger) Nelson of Waseca and Sharon (Glen) Galles of German Valley, Illinois; mothe-rin-law, Lila Keim of St. James; and sister-in-law, Kathy (Larry) Spitzner of St. James. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Grayce Zimmerman; father-in-law, Norman Keim; and brother-in-law, Art Keim.
